


THE EDISON TRIUMPH MODEL "B" WAS INTRODUCED IN JULY
1906. THE CASE WAS COLORED "ANTIQUE OAK" AND WAS THE FIRST TRIUMPH
MODEL TO CARRY THE "EDISON" SCRIPT IDENTIFIER INSTEAD OF THE EARLIER
BANNER IDENTIFICATION.
THE MACHINE WAS EQUIPPED WITH A LOCKING LEVER GATE FASTENER IN LIEU OF THE
OLDER SWING ARM LOCKING BOLT. THE MACHINE WAS A 2 MINUTE MACHINE AND WAS
CAME WITH A MODEL "C" REPRODUCER. THE MACHINE WAS SUPPLIED WITH
A 14" BRASS AND BLACK HORN. DO TO THE SOUND LIMITATION OF THE SMALLER
HORN EDISON STARTED SUPPLYING THE LARGER 12 PANEL, 33" LONG TRIUMPH
HORN IN SEPTEMBER OF 1907. AS WITH A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF EDISON PHONOGRAHS,
MANY OF THE TRIUMPHS WERE RETROFITTED WITH A 2-4 MINUTE MANDREL AND PULLEY
ASSEMBLY WHEN THE 4 MINUTE CYLINDER WAS INTRODUCED.
THE MACHINE PICTURED IS EQUIPPED WITH A MODEL "D" REPRODUCER CARRIAGE
WITH AN EDISON DIAMOND B REPRODUCER. THE REPRODUCER CARRIAGES OF THE MODEL
"D" WILL WORK ADEQUATELY ON THE MODEL "B" THUS EARLY
AUDIOPHILES TOOK THE ADVANTAGE OF THE LARGE BODY REPRODUCERS, I.E. DIAMOND
"B" OR MODEL "O" TO IMPROVE SOUND REPRODUCTION. THIS
MACHINE IS EQUIPPED WITH A DIAMOND "B" REPRODUCER AND HAS AN OAK
CYGNET HORN WHICH WAS AVAILABLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL $65.
THE TPIUMPH HAS THE LARGEST MOTOR OF THE EDISON LINE. IT SUPPORTS THREE
MAINSPRINGS AND WILL PLAY FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES ON A WINDING. IT IS HEAVY
ENOUGH (49 LBS) NOT TO JUMP AROUND ON THE SURFACE WHEN BEING WOUND. THE
DIMENSIONS ARE: HEIGHT 14 3/8", BASE 18 1/8" X 12 3/4".
